A call to artists for juried art show at Elisabeth Lahti Library in Indiantown Deadline: March 11 2014
A juried art show, titled "Florida's Cowboys and Indians," will be held in the spring at the Elisabeth Lahti Library, 15200 SW Adams Ave, Indiantown, continuing the Martin County Library System's focus on Florida's rich and diverse history through the Journey Stories series. All Florida artists are eligible.
The exhibit will run from Saturday, March 15 through Saturday, April 12, with viewing hours Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10:00 am-4:00 pm, as well as Wednesdays 12:00-4:00 pm. An opening reception will be held March 22 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
The timeline for artwork submissions is as follows: on Tuesday, March 11 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm submissions may be dropped off at the Elisabeth Lahti Library.
Submitted works will be selected the following Wednesday, March 12. Artists whose work has not been selected for exhibition will be notified on Thursday, March 13 by 4:00 pm (if artists are not notified, this means their work has been accepted). In the case that an artist's work has not been selected, their pieces will be available for pick-up Friday, March 14 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
Artists seeking to submit their work must be aware of the following stipulations: artwork must be no larger than 40" wide; artwork must be dry, framed and wired for hanging (no toothed brackets, Plexiglas only), artwork may be tagged NFS (Not For Sale), artwork may NOT be withdrawn before close of exhibit, and artwork must be labeled on the back with artist's name, phone number, title, medium, size, and price. Finally, and most important of all, all artwork must pertain to the overarching theme of the exhibition: "Florida's Cowboys and Indians."
